Damn... I'll have to get my kid to get me some from school. I have deadlines to meet....
You sure as hell wouldn't be joking like that if some asshole gave that to your kid at recess, now would you?
It's not being marketed as a drug, it's being given to them as candy. Don't assume your kids will always know not to trust their friends, or their friends older brothers, etc. who offer them candy. I posted it so that parents can let their kids know that not everyone is trustworthy. It's a pretty scary world when you have to worry about your kids being given tainted candy.
My son learned about this in school. The nurse gave out information warning the children to be on the lookout.
It doesn't make much sense because Meth is rather pricey (more so than coke) so why give it away?
Why not? There are a lot of sick people in the world. Who knows why anyone does the shit they do?
You get a kid hooked and you say "Come back for more, but next time I have to sell it to you." You find the right kid and he'll be stealing from his parents in no time.
FRONTLINE: the meth epidemic: frequently asked questions | PBSWhat is the average street price for meth? Has it varied over the years?
One hit of meth is about a quarter of a gram and will cost a user about $25. However, the price of meth is volatile and can get as high as $80 per hit. As with most drugs, the price depends on the drug's purity, the amount and where it is sold. An example: in 2002 the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) reported that a gram of pure meth was as high as $330 in Chicago but only $60 in Seattle. Although the price of meth, when adjusted for inflation, has declined since the early 1980s, it remains relatively high; today, an ounce of meth costs nearly 10 times as much as an ounce of gold.
Damn...I remember the days when 10 dollars would get you an ounce of some decent mexican weed.
My dealer hands out free samples all the time.
