I feel like I have made this post before, but... What's up with the race card? It seems like it's played so often on this forum.

Personally, I think it comes up for a couple of reasons.

First it's easy to accuse someone one of it. How do you defend yourself against that?

Secondly, I think some people are. They espouse an unnatural and illogical hatred for the man that is not based in fact. I think it's difficult for some people to accept that a black man is the leader of the free world. Some of the things being thrown around are idiotic. When you have nutcases screaming "Messiah", "Worst President Ever" and always falling back on the old "State Riiiites" war cry... what else could it really be or are they really that ignorant?

Like who?

And you are still making a rather large jump and assumption. You are assuming that the reason someone is anti-Obama is because of his race.

But the race card seems to be played in this forum in instances where there is NO PROOF that that anti-Obama person is a racist.

On this forum its a tool used to marginalize your point, then your post(s), then after awhile it defines you and the content of your post. Look at some of the long time members here who have been marginalized in this fashion. Anything they post no matter race related or not, reverts back to them being racists.

Would it be to unreasonable to believe that playing any race card by any race is in itself racist? I mean you can't really play it unless you are marginalizing groups of people based on their race.

You've expressed this false accusation before and its rather tiresome. First you say I love Obama because he's black and then you apologize in the same sentence. What is it with you Mikey? You want it both ways to make yourself feel better? You really don't get it do you. You claim to want a civilized discussion and then you make an assumption that is so absurd I don't even know why I bother anymore.
