I cannot say that I am all that familar with teh dimension theories of the various forms of physics. It's not really my speciality at all; well, no science is.

From looking at the opinions of scientists and the evidence they bring to the table, though, I don't believe in alternative universes where gods exist, but then again, I don't believe in God/gods anyway.

The String Theories and alternative universe theories are all very speculative, unlike those that deal with our known universe.

Did you like the source I linked to earlier?

    Err, kind of.

When it comes to words and meanings everything is subjective, so indeed it can be either of our meanings.

Actually, string theory is the only quantum theory of gravitation that works. What people find irksome about string theory is it's insistence on something of the order of 10^500 possible solutions, where they want only one.

But string theory does indeed deal with this universe. It just says that the observed three-dimensional physical universe isn't all there is to see.

Ahh thanks. As I said, I am not particularly familar with anything in physics. I should look up superstring theory. I would have to say that from what I have read about alternative universes interacting with our own, I am unconvinced, and I haven't seen all that many scientists jump on ship in peer review.

I was always under the impression that string theory was speculative. That's what they see to imply.

Without string theory, in my opinion, God cannot exist. This is because we live in a third dimensional universe, we are limited by time, possibility, and universal laws.

Technocrat: I recommend The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design

Feslin: With string theory, God isn't necessary. 10^500 is a very large room for random events to happen in.

I didn't say God is necessary for string theory, I said string theory is necessary for God.
