Thread: New company wants Mars colony

The company's mission: to open a small human settlement on Mars within 20 years or so.

Unfortunately, I got a 404 error when clicking at the link. Anyway, I can't see the economical profit in building a human settlement at Mars. At first, NASA (or any other space organization) got to prove that they have the technology to build a permanent base on a foreign planet. And, of course, it has to pay off. Maybe not in dollars, but at least in new technology.

Yeah, and in 1950 they were saying that by 1980 we'd be living on the moon.
