Which is the most hypocritical ideology?

Often people discuss the inherent faults in our various ideologies (liberals favor social freedoms but favor higher taxes and regulation, conservatives favor lesser involvement in the economy but are against gay marriage and abortion, etc.). All of them considered, which ideology is the most hypocritical in your opinion?

My biggest problem with Conservatism is that so many of them talk about wanting smaller government but are so unwilling themselves to give up their piece of that pie. They take all they need from the government and feel that somebody in a different situation who may need more help is simply not doing their part. They often say this without ever having been in that situation themselves. Not all are like this true and there are many liberals out there who just want to make themselves look good too but I am going off my observation.

I think that at the end of the day any and all ideologies suffer from not being aware of other people's situations because not all ideologies are meant to appeal to everybody, and in fact are centered around one or a few groups, and thus are not as aware of other groups that may or may not have a legitimate gripe.

I agree with conservatives being the most hypocritical all the way. They are. They say they want less government, government out of religion, and liberty yet back up police citizenship checks, gay marriage bans, and drug laws. They only want government out of their lives and no one elses. They don't care about liberty for others, only themselves. This is summed up by shows like Lars Larson, where he constantly goes on about liberty, yet when someone calls in saying something he doesn't like should be allowed Lars will go into a whole deal about how what the caller wants is unreasonable and it's not liberty they're asking for but license. Maybe it's his coping mechanism for his and his parties extreme hypocritical. You can always be for liberty when you say the things you're against don't qualify as liberties.

Re: Which is the most hypocritical ideology?

I tend to consider libertarianism the most hypocritical. Not really all libertarians, but the main stream of them- the "socially liberal" far-right-wingers.
I think "objectiv"ism and similar strains of right-wing libertarianism are elitist, and the consequences of their policy objectives are reduced human rights rather than increased.
The progressive movement was built on the notion that only a strong government could expand and protect human rights...
The modern big strain of libertarianism is the obvious answer to that: using small government to accomplish the goals of fascism.

I'm not sure if that's hypocritical (hypocritical is more an individual thing)... but it's dubious.
    This cat kills fascists.

This thread is about the most hypocritical ideology, though, not the most hypocritical group of people who profess to adhere to an ideology. You're saying that conservatives are hypocritical, but both of you haven't really said anything about conservatism per se.

    Just saying...
In all history there is no war which was not hatched by the governments, the governments alone, independent of the interests of the people, to whom war is always pernicious even when successful.

The greater the state, the more wrong and cruel its patriotism, and the greater is the sum of suffering upon which its power is founded.

Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.

I chose other because statism was not an option (I couldn't choose them all).

I'm assuming that statism is an ideology which aims to maximize peace and prosperity among human beings, and the reason it's hypocritical is because its very foundation lies in violence and aggression.

I didn't include it because it spans several ideologies. At least my concept of it.

Well said, I agree. Many mainstream Conservatives claim they are for "small government" but they're fine with a huge military, and huge law enforcement agencies and prison systems, so really they're not for small government; they just pick and choose which programs they don't like.

Yea, that's fine, and I agree. I just did the best with what I had.
