    IRS to become ObamaCare Gestapo

Be careful of what you wish for; you just might get it. Just for the record, the IRS already does this for delinquent child support payments. Welcome to Obama's Amerika.

According to the House Ways and Means Committee, if ObamaCare passes, it will create about 16,500 new IRS jobs to act as a health care police, enforcing some of the most intrusive and tyrannical provisions of this widely rejected and illegal take-over.

Under the legislation, thousands of agents will be sifting through our most intimate personal information, making sure that we have all made "acceptable" health care choices. The IRS will also be able to fine us up to $2,250 or 2% of our annual income for failing to purchase Democrat-approved health insurance, and will be able to confiscate our tax returns to get the money...

Gestapo eh? Reminds me of this sketch.

Can we just invoke Godwin right now?

First I want to play a little violin for the deadbeat dads who thought they could get away with paying for their kids by leaving the state.

Okay. Now we'll move on to what really is going on.
A tax penalty. A tax penalty for not purchasing insurance. Insurance that the government will subsidize if necessary. There is no tax penalty for smoking, not exercising, skipping a check-up, or having a child who is "emo".
What's wrong with not buying insurance? I'm glad you asked. Great question.
If we are going to prop up the private system, once we move from our visceral hatred of insurance companies, we must look at the reality of the system.
The reason companies do not accept pre-existing conditions is because these people cost more and force premium increases on healthy customers- which causes them to move elsewhere. That is why now you basically pay insurance companies while healthy to do nothing for you when you later become frail.
By putting everyone in the risk pool, you even things out. Yes, healthy people subsidize the unhealthy. But as they get older and their risk increases, things even out.
Compare this to young, healthy people staying out due to money concerns until they end up needing insurance (which is more likely to happen to people with said money problems).

Now try not to compare everything on earth with Naziism... Is theis the Baby Boomers' one-trick pony? In the '60s all the right-wingers of the older generation were fascists. Now that they're old, all the left-wingers of the younger generation are fascists. Get over yourselves, Boomers. This time your generation is not on the side of the little guy.

The obvious problem with this is that confiscation of a person's income for non-compliance with mandatory insurance purchase is flagrantly unconstitutional. It is however in keeping with Obama's quest to communise the economy which is just another form of facism. Both relied on total control of the individual. The Nazies were, after all the party of "Nationalsozialismus", (National Socialism).

Collection of child support isn't as it is merely the enforcement of legal (mostly judicial) child support orders.

Too late. MM Godwinned his own thread with the opening post.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.

The other, of course, involves Hobbits and Orcs.

Godwin's Law only applies if a thread moves to a comparison with Nazis and/or Hitler. If the thread begins with that comparison, it can't technically be called on Godwin.
