Economy in free fall in fourth quarter

There is a thread on the board calling for investors to relinquish their profits for the greater good. What profits???? The market is down, 5.5% of the GDP is gone, stocks are falling. I think the investors took their beating already!

Since dividends create the least downside volatility of anything a company can do this proposal is insane.

The last thing the media should be doing is lying right now, they owe us that much. The article states that 0.5% is a record to be set in the first quarter of this year. Read the earning statement posted above, we lost that in the last quarter of last year. I swear, when the revolt starts, I am thinking the government along with their media gets the same treatment.

At least journalism majors are not permitted to deal with anything that requires more math skills than punching numbers into a calculator or computer and coming up with a cookbook.

In order to be lies political bureaucrats and journalists would have to understand not merely the big words being used but also context and the math behind the words being used. If you want to go really ballistic check the 1964 surgeon general's report on tobacco. The political appointees can't even figure out that they created the much bigger public health threat of the obesity epidemic through banning appetite suppressing secondhand smoke in restaurants and bars. These folks are pathetic.
