We're going to sell Utah to the Mexicans to pay for it all.
Adios muchacho!
Tax and spend, tax and spend!![]()
Well there is another stimulus package in the works that is going to be at minimum 125 billion bucks. Probably much more. If this is inevitably going to happen, I would much rather it go to creating American jobs rebuilding our infrastructure, modernizing our schools, and creating alternative energies, instead of just foolishly sending checks.
I believe it was Huckabee who suggested with the first round of stimulus checks earlier this year that we would be better off using that money and hiring folks to rebuild a highway from Maine to Florida using American people and products. I believe he was on to something there.
Sometimes it takes money to make money, and while we are foolishly just throwing money around to bail out the rich, I think investing some in ourselves just may make us better off in the long run.
Absolutely retarted. Millions of laid off auto workers, laid off white collar trudging off to work to displace millions of illegal aliens who already hold those positions working on hot highways in the middle of the summer. Is are infrustructure in that bad of shape ? No...not gonna happen. The thing is if Bush had proposed this moronic plan those hypocrites that support this plan would be all over him.
Our infrastructure could use some help. I lived in central florida where the roads were limerocked over sugarsand. If we wanted it paved, we had to pay an extra $750 in yearly taxes while we were paving roads in Iraq and Afghanistan for free.
There has been a recent number of bridge collpases too, though I forget where.
If they're going to throw away money, I would also rather it go to Americans who work to build something better inside America with our own products. Better there than some bad banker's stingy vault.
If unemployment gets high enough, IMO, it would be a good move. At least the costs will not be as bad since these people that normally would have been unemployed will be paying taxes. Also private businesses associated with the repairs will have higher profits, hence more tax revenue.
What kind of infrastructure repairs are they looking to do anyways? Could save citizens money if they don't have to replace a tire every time they hit a pot hole. That's if you can get the credit to buy a car in the first place, Ha!
I think the Conservative Gov of Canada is looking to do some investment into infrastructure as well. I'm all for it.![]()
