freightening...but nothing I ever ruled out. I'm not an exceptionalist. So I value what we have, and don't run around wasting resources like that lifestyle is owed to me. Also, I've lived in third world countries, I know what bad looks like, and history shows me it's not impossible for the mighty to fall. IE British, French, Dutch, Spanish, Ottomans, etc......
The biggest problem with the US situation, in my opinion, is that we are trying to keep the economy growing, which we can't. It has to shrink, big time. It has been artificially inflated for years by credit that we can't afford, and now its coming back to bite us hard. If we continue to try and keep our economy growing at this point, the dollar will be done for. Shrinking the economy will be very painful, with many lost jobs and business failures, but is probably the only option for survival. Let the companies that can't survive fail, because they will have to. Trying to keep failing businesses afloat will further lead to the demise of the dollar. Just my thoughts.
The dollar is going down, it is time to shore up on what precious metals you can afford before you are left out in the cold.
