WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department will propose on Monday that Congress give the Federal Reserve broad new authority to oversee financial market stability, in effect allowing it to send SWAT teams into any corner of the industry or any institution that might pose a risk to the overall system.

This is crap, nobody elected these fucks to fix anything. Hell they destroyed the economy and now we are to allow them greater control. Fuck that, I am writing my reps, this gets shot down or I quit paying taxes thats that.

Interesting way for them to deal with responsibilty - hand it to someone else.
Its really a vote of "no confidence" in democracy. If democracy can't be trusted with the economy, I wonder how long it will last...
