An interesting, if provocative (wait for the comments from the unrestrained capital supporters of this board

) concept.
Where it falls down is the method by which class is established. Class is a quasi-sociological concept, and notoriously difficult to define. Moreover it is a concept which varies enormously from one society to another.
I feel sure that you are referring to class as an indicator of wealth or income, but in my society, those elements have nothing to do with class. It is common in British society to have someone who is considered a representative of the very highest class, but who is nonetheless a pauper. It is also common to have multi-billionaires who would not be admitted to the better homes and establishments of the land.
So how would you define the upper, middle, and lower classes in society?
But the redistribution of wealth is an admirable aim, and I thank you for your interesting suggestion.
