The sad part is that we have enough oil under the rockies in CO and UT that would make Iran and Iraq puke,but the environmental wackos will not let us drill there or offshore
This is sadly the only way to ween ourselves off of foreign oil until we can come up with a fuel source that is cheaper.

Its pretty low-grade stuff - very expensive to extract and the quantity of high grade refining products you get out of it is relatively low. The world is running out of light, sweet crude used for jet fuel and gasoline. There's plenty of shit- Saudi is full of it. Its probably as cheap for gas-to-liquids and the synthetic is better quality. So its back to Russia and Iran I'm afraid...
