    Would Communism Work??

    Hello

I am often told of the argument that Communism would not work and in fact it would actually make people poorer. The Communist manifesto however does tell us a different story as it paints a Communist Rebellion and society as a utopia where everybody is equal. I am just writing to ask the forum of three things

    1. What is your opinion on Communism? Do you belive in it?

    2. Do you think that economically Communism would work, e.g. can we run an economy thorugh Communism

3.Can you ever see Communism becoming more popular?

If you could answer these three questions then I would be entirely grateful. Thank you

    Re: Would Communism Work??

    1. I think Communism is an amazing ideology and i believe strongly that a red revolution would make our world a much better place.

    2. Yes Communism works economically. The communist economical govern is called "plan-economy". This was Karl Marx' original idea of how we can reach the classless society using economics. I see no reason why plan economy won't work. The only thing i don't like, is that Marx' wished to nationalise everything and abolish all private ownership. This i believe is wrong, I believe that all large profit companies should be nationalised and all the means of production should be nationalised. But i think it is very important to maintain enough room for private venturing in our society.

    3. I hope so, for the worlds sake. But i am afraid it is going to be difficult to mobilise the masses towards a red revolution because it doesn't appeal to our primitive human instincts. The reason I believe capitalism has worked so well is because it appeals to our primitive instincts like greed and no compassion.

    1) No. Blatant robbery turned to hidden robbery.

    2) No. Not unless you want to cut the nation into communities of 400, no more.

    3) Yeah. People are gullible, and getting worse.

    1. No I don't. It kills natural selection.
    2. Sure, a communist economy could work in theory. Problem is Humans arn't compatible with it.
    3. Maybe if humans were to evole into something compatible. Maybe 10,000 years if we get to work now

You are right that humans aren't capable with it. It is because we are too greedy, we haven't learn't that we have to pass off our evil human nature.

It has high ideals yet it has never succeeded. Why? Because the leaders create a higher class for themselves and abuse the masses.

    2. Do you think that economically Communism would work, e.g. can we run an economy thorugh Communism

No. People are corrupt at the core.

3.Can you ever see Communism becoming more popular?

    A sucker is born everyday.
I hope to see the downfall of Chinese communism.

Marx's historical analysis of development is overly simplistic, and ultimately a failure. His dialectics and theory of surplus value are gems.

Why not? Economies have been known to succeed on considerably less basis.

There is a need to reconcile some of its theories to some practical realities. It is inevitable, imo, in a form that was not predicted by its author.

    1) It looks good on paper, however whenever it's been attempted to put into practice, it's always been a complete disaster, both economically and socially.

Do I believe in it? No.

    2) No, see answer above.

    3) No not really.

BTW, if you don't mind I ask, where about's in Scotland do you live, I mean what city....eg. are you in Glasgow?

I lived in Glasgow for six years, I lived in Hyndland (Glasgow suburb, for those who have no idea what I'm going on about).

Is the Chinese government actually practicing Communism though now?

Seems to me, that they've embraced rather a lot of Capitalism and Capitalist instincts, which is probably why the Chinese economy has been doing so incredibly well these past years.

I mean, China now ISN'T exactly run on Maoist principles anymore is it?

North Korea is a really GREAT example of how TOTALLY disasterous Communism is, both economically and socially.

I think communism is a good idea, but it will never work because of human nature. THat is to take whatever you can for advantage, and I think too many people would sit around and do nothing, while still reaping the benefits.
