Fannie, Freddie common shares worthless, KBW says

Fannie and Freddie are being hit by ongoing mortgage losses and higher borrowing costs during the housing downturn. Fannie reported a second-quarter loss of nearly $15 billion, after it lost more than $20 billion in the first quarter.

And the solution???? Well another bailout of course. Lets see these people pay back the loans.

The house of cards is tumbling peeps, and there is no end in sight.

BTW the dollar is south of south again!

In a way it is a sweet deal for investors into the spin off and offers an opportunity for the government to get out of the guarantee business but still does not clearly express how all the bad debt will be eliminated, other than just moving them of the books. Or in this case if the debt is so large you can form a bad bank.
