Certainly doesn't look good for the other two. At least the family can now have closure.

Here's a question:
Were those climbers required to carry enough insurance to pay for their own rescue, are are the taxpayers getting tapped for the bill?
Don't bother to answer, we already know that the taxpayer is getting screwed again.
Maybe you should have been on that trip........... that's exactly why those guys paid taxes all their life.
No. That's bullshit. My taxes shouldn't go to pay for rescuing the dumb people that risk their lives just because they want to.
If they want to play stupid games, they should be required to finance it themselves, including the possible consequences. Needless to say, making them pay for their own entertainment would greatly reduce the number of people littering our mountains with their corpses.
Is there some reason you're opposed to making peopel pay for their own adventures?
Smokers get taxed extra to pay for their health care, don't they?
You risk your life crossing the street. According to you, we should all lock ourselves away in a rubber room? Like I said, their contribution to the tax system WAS their insurance for situations like this. Your outlook on life is BS....
Also... This is so much more a noble cause for my tax dollars than an illegal fucking war we're responsible to pay for.
Most states are adopting a measure to charge a large sum for permits to climb, to cover just these type costs. Some states (like Colorado) bill the rescued people, depending on the circumstances.
Either way, its good they are making the people involved foot the bill.
Do they? Good...they should. Well, again, based on circumstances.

How sad. I saw this on the news before I went to work this morning. I was hoping there would be a miracle and they'd be found alive.
