Just a little survey to know where everyone stands. What political party do you associate yourself with. If it is neither, which one do you tend to side with more when it comes to issues. And what is the number one issue that puts you in that group?

The Social Democrats. I tend to side with the Democrats simply because there's no Technocratic Party here. Yet.
Issue? Civil Liberties, Social Welfare.
I have voted Republican since Reagan...yet I consider myself a Conservative first. I have been considering voting Libertarian...this election may have nade that possible.
Libertartian.
Issue? Victimless Crime Laws mainly.
I vote for Ross Perot to come back. Other than that, depends on what I see and how they respond to the questions. I have voted for both party’s even though I tend to lean towards the Republicans at times. What number one issue? Fund all health care by rescinding tax cuts, cutting waste and focus on getting the American people back their jobs going overseas.
Canada now has 4 major political parties: the Conservative Government which represents the entire right spectrum, the Liberals who are Centre-left, the New Democratic Party who are further left, the Quebec Seperatists who tend to lean left as well. Plus the Greens who may be growing in the future, and a bunch of other meaningless parties which never win seats (Communists, Yoga-flyers etc.)
I think I voted for all of them at least once - except the Quebecois of course. Parties change endlessly, if you're voting for the same party all the time then you've voting for totally different things each time. I think if you're not paying attention to the leader, the party and their stance on issues today... you shouldn't be voting. That's why I never vote in civic elections.
Me me me... sorry. Slow work day. Typhoon coming and everybody cancelled classes.
I'm independant, I listen to the issues not what party their in. It's more work than just voting one side or the other, but the result is far more rewarding.
Hmm... I should have chosen my words more carefully, I sound a bit pompus there. Sorry about that. Not to mention what feslin pointed out.
The answer to the rest is that I tend to vote republican lately(if I were allowed to vote that is) illegal immigration being the main reason. Even if George Bush thinks illegal immigrants are great, most republicans beg to differ.
True enough, but I don't think that Republican leadership is willing to tackle the issue for whatever reason.
Unfortunantly, Libertarians aren't a better choice when it comes to illegal immigration. Honestly, they're dumbfucks (for lack of a better term) when it comes to it...
