Most Americans Support Anti-Terrorism Racial Profiling

Wondering what your take is on this, and do you agree or disagree? Taken from Reuters. While I hate to say I agree, I'm afraid it would be dishonest of me to say otherwise.

By a 60 percent to 37 percent margin, respondents said authorities should single out people who look "Middle Eastern" for security screening at locations such as airports and train stations -- a finding that drew sharp criticism by civil liberties groups.
I do think the United States is more likely to be attacked by a Middle Eastern person than by a White or Black person. Does that mean I support racial profiling... I say I don't - but then again do I?

Considering that it wasn't whites, blacks, Hispanics, or Native Americans that belonged to Al Quada and crashing into buildings and a field on 9/11, I'd say I'd have to go with that unless proven wrong. But I do feel sorry for those innocents who get mistaken for possible terrorists, because that must be really a frightening experience for them.
No system is perfect, and until we hit perfection, it's hit-or-miss until they find a better way than racial profiling.

It's not really that frightening, it happened to my father and I the two times we went to the airport. It's really not that bad...

It might've been because we were wearing the same kind of shoes. All they really make you do is take you behind some screens, make you take your shoes and socks off, and then they pass the detector thingymajjiger over your body.

I absolutely support racial profiling in this case. You cannot deny that every single act of terrorism in this country, with the exception of Timothy McVeigh, has been carried out by Middle Eastern males. No little old ladies, no babies, no black or white men or women. In an idiotic attempt to be politically correct, old ladies and babies are pulled out of lines in airports to be searched, so we won't hurt the feelings of Middle Eastern gentlemen. Pfffft! Feelings be damned. Until babies and old ladies start blowing up planes and buildings, I think we should leave them alone and focus on the people who are most likely to be a threat to our safety----Middle Eastern men.

I can deny it! Let's see, there was John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo in the D.C sniper attacks, There was Charles S. Whitman who sniped 15 at the University of Texas in 1966. Here's a few more!
    Theodore Kaczynski
    James Charles Kopp
    Earl Krugel
    Byron De La Beckwith
    Paul Jennings Hill

That's a good analogy. I wish there was a better way, though, than like pulling Fes and his Dad out of line because of their shoes. And I think this is a little bothersome too:

In an idiotic attempt to be politically correct, old ladies and babies are pulled out of lines in airports to be searched, so we won't hurt the feelings of Middle Eastern gentlemen.
And that has to be scary! But what else do we do? How can we improve this system? I don't know.

I realize there are problems in America, but some people take this a little too far, and turn Americans into blood-sucking Imperialists, and it pisses me off.

A little off-topic perphaps, but I need to fume.

They can tell you whatever reason they want, but all goverments, with 99% of their security actions only want to steal people's civil liberties.
