The Virginia Senate approved the requirement Wednesday on a 21-18 vote mainly along party lines. It is the first abortion-related measure to pass the Senate since Republicans took effective control of the chamber following the fall elections; more are pending.

    The bill from Sen. Jill Vogel would make women seeking abortions get an ultrasound, give them a chance to view the image and require providers to keep a copy of it on file.
    The measure requires an ultrasound at least 24 hours before an abortion but makes an exception for women who live 100 miles or more from the abortion facility - theirs can be done two hours prior to the procedure.
    The Virginia Vaginal Penetration Bill is being champioed by Republicans - yes Republicans - you know those phoney balneys who claim to like personal freedom and small government. The ultrasound test requires that the vagina be penetrated by a probe to " see " the fetus. Republicans beleive that the forced penetration of the vagonas of women seeking an abortion is ok since the probe is small, you know Republican sized probe.


    What do you guys think !? Do you agree with the Virginia Republicans that womwn have their vaginas probed in order to have an abortion.

    Just another angle for the repubs to try and limit abortions. And yes once again the party that allegedly wants government out of our lives really doesn't.

    Good God it doesn't get more intrusive than telling someone what they can and can't do with their bodies.

    They do. It's not uncommon for libz to make up their own reality and talk about things they know nothing about.     Norrmally yes but the only way to specifically assertain the exact stage of development of a fetus is to perform the low level soundings from the inside of the uterus.
    But let's say that they developed the ability to determine the stage of the fetus with an external ultrasound that is still an extremely personal demand or requirement on a woman and that does not track as Constitutional in my book. Think about that people !!! The TEAS/Goppers scream like srewed geese in a French pate' factory that BO BO Bama is forcing people to carry health insurance and they claim that the Health InSURANCE LAW is somehow "Unconstitutional" but low and behold forcing women to submit to a vaginal probe testing is somehow "Constitutional". ??

    During an abortion...do they use a speculum or do they remove the child through another means?

    Ultra sounds are sound waves, the typical procedure is done with the reading device only on the surface of the mothers abdomen. No penetration required.

    Another lib fabrication...more fear mongering tactics. Why is it the only time a lib ever embraces choice is if that choice is to kill an unborn child?
