I guess I will have to take him at his word." This is their way of casting doubt and spreading rumours - all of which goes against Jesus' teachings, among which was the admonition that no one but God the Father knows the heart of a man. No one. But that doesn't stop them from judging him and smearing him, since he doesn't fit into their narrative. They liked Bush because they could play him like a fiddle. They hate Obama because they cannot.

All of which proves that tribalism often trumps mature faith.

So the shine is officially off the Compassionate Conservative turd. Can anyone explain to me the justification for conservatives getting totally unhinged over this, or is this just another example of the ideology/dogma conflict among the Right's ranks?
Same President that cancelled 21st annual White House observance of the national day of prayer in May of 2009, but yet participated in a Muslim prayer event held in Washington D.C. and claimed that America is not a Christian nation. I'm inclined to believe that President Obama has lost his righteous mind.

That isn't something that requires a struggle or any effort whatsoever to refute - that's just plain wrong.
Unlike Bush who used the Bible to promote a war of convenience against an enemy that posed NO THREAT.

Hmmm... I wonder which is the bigger threat to the US? A president who the right (wrongly) claims is trying to promote a socialist agenda, or a President who the left (correctly) claims was singularly destructive of our liberties, our global reputation, and our economy? Hmmm...which to choose, which to choose?

Funny how the hypochristians always forget these two verses (which pretty much make their dragging religion into public politics wrong):

Mathew 6.5: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets so that they should appear to men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mathew 6.6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Counter argument: President Obama has quoted Biblical references on Federal property, which "endorses a religion", and that's unconstitutional! Quick Cicero, call the ACLU!!!

Notice that both verses refer to prayer, not speech and not evangelizing which was commanded by Jesus. I'm afraid you can't shut us up.

    Matthew 28:16-20

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
