But just to play devil's advocate, if it was Michelle Bachmann or Sarah Palin who had been shot, would the Liberals on this forum have been polite and respectful? I can think of a few offhand who would think it was wonderful that they were hurt.

Sorry, I don't buy it. There are lefties here that are even more hateful than the right wingers that they criticize on a regular basis. Hopefully we won't have to find out.

It would be nice if more was said about they others who were killed/injured in the attack. They seem to have been forgotten, which is a common occurance. The media only wants to report about certain people. Shame on them.

I certainly would, for this is not a partisan issue. It is a human issue. I wish no person, regardless of race, creed, ideology, etc, harm, ever.

I know you would, but there are others who wouldn't.

It is probably a wise thing that Ms. Giffords retire. She probably realizes that she will have difficulty fulfilling her obligations to the people who elected her and also work on her recovery.
