He's still Senate Majority Leader isn't he? I mean that's just a mystery beyond comprehension to me. Put aside the racist comment, he also let the Senate go years without passing a budget and is an incompetent of the highest order. You'd think they'd be looking for an excuse to get rid of him.

The story broke too soon before the Iowa caucus to have an effect. Let's see how he does as the debate continues. Admittedly, worse results could be because of any number of factors.
Of course they come up. To point out that nothing bad happened to any of those people after they made racist statements. Not one of them suffered any punitive consequence at all. Hell, a couple of them moved up to higher office. So why should the outrage the left directs at a Republican for what it perceives to be racist statements be taken seriously when Democrats get away with it every time?

You have a valid point, but HW Bush was also caught up in a three-way race that brought him to the lowest GOP national percentage of the vote since the election of 1936.

I answered that. It's in the part of my comments you edited out.
You missing either of those racist? Seems like it. I'm glad they are gone. It's not that complicated. They're only gone because it was politically expedient for the GOP to throw them under the bus. Racism is hurting the GOP, more so than the Democrats. If Harry Reid, or any of the other Democrats you've mentioned, were hurting the Democrats politically on the race issue, they'd get the same treatment. The GOP has a persistent race relation problem. Whereas the Democrats generally have good standing among black voters on the issue of race.Trent Lott and George Allen apologized too. How much good did that do them?
