The Rise and Fall of Oprah

Oprah's OWN ratings fall during first week | Inside TV | EW.com

While OWN’s premiere averaged 1 million primetime viewers last weekend, Sunday dropped to 822,000. Monday fell to 394,000, followed by Tuesday hitting 315,000. In the network’s target of women 25-54, OWN went from an opening night rating of 0.6 to a 0.2 at the start of the week.
What are or were the ratings for that silly lil Sarah Palin show?

Oh if i were you I wouldn't feel too sorry for Oprah's "fall". No need to pass the hat for her so she can make the house payment just yet.

According to a survey by TV Guide published in August 2110, here's the top earners in TV land, PER YEAR.
    1. Oprah Winfrey $315 million
    2. Judge Judy $45 million
    3. David Letterman $28 million
    4. Charlie Sheen $1.25 million per episode of Two And A Half Men
    5. Jay Leno $25 million

I don't care to watch either one. If in your world this is important, you might want to get a life..

Oprah recently stated that Motherhood is the HARDEST job in the world. She's so very bright. It's much harder than deep sea fishing, coal mining, laying sod, police, fire, and paramedic jobs, much harder than being a slave or a prostitute and wayyyy harder than being a taxi or truck driver... She's so great, and you can tell how intelligent people are when they vote for, and endorse such successful and effective people like Obama. You can also gauge her tremendous vision for starting a school in Africa with stunning results.
"We had to make some tough choices, and in the end, courses like Oprahnomics and World Winfrography were simply too expensive to keep around," announced principal Desiree Verdan, speaking before reporters in the school's Harpo Arts Auditorium. "Sadly, with the high cost of Oprah-based education these days, eliminating these programs is our only recourse."
I hope I can grasp "Oprahnomics" someday, but I'm sure my fellow liberals here already do, and will fill me in on the mechanics of it, and whether it falls into Keynsian or Austrian Economic schools of thought. Because, as my fellow monkey-poo flinger liberals have pointed out, "I'm just so stupid, and emotionally arrested".
She's sssssssssooooooooooo smart! and pretty! She's just like, Michelle Obabma's picture of health and fitness, too!
Where on the World Winfrography map are you? In the State of New Denial, or Old Delusion? Let's re-write History together, fellow Liberals!

Ah but you see U1, the School has historical perspective and remember a time Oprah could move mountains. A fer piece back, Oprah one time came out with a single statement about beef. Perhaps you remember, I cannot remember the entire detail of it, I could link to it I reckon but it's not important. I believe the issue was mad cow disease, she blurted out an anti-meat statement and the American family grocery store consumer(most times the woman, I make no sexist statement here, it's a fact in this nation), and beef sales went through the basement.

Now...I sat there stunned. A big write up in the Wall Street Journal, the beef industry even took Oprah to court. Anyone remember this? On her word alone.......and I do not know how ANYONE can even look at Oprah Winfrey and think she's an authority on nutrition or what anyone else should eat......but this lil burb by Oprah had caused a national tsunami, women 25-54 just flat out stopped buying as much beef. Well...those are our mothers!

The beef industry panics and lawsuits Oprah......who the very successful and capable businesswoman that she is, takes em on! The eventual deal was she gets to come out on the courthouse steps a winner.....but she couldn't make statements about the beef industry or process or some such nonsense, eventually beef demand increased and prices...of course....permitted to then rise again,

What stunned me was the instantaneous reaction to mere 'words' from an Oprah Winfrey. I just sat there blinking. Unable to figure it out to this day. So, I find it notable that her fame and 'inspiration' seem today to affect a lot less. Course with huge icons and people we look to today......Lady GaGa.....you know, giants of American definition like that.

I don't pay any attention to Oprah and I have never watched her show, so I really couldn't care less if Sarah beats her in the ratings. Does it really make you feel warm inside that more people watch Sarah than Oprah? You might want to take a hard look at what's important to you.
I have never seen Lady Gaga either.
