Local News | Walgreens: no new Medicaid patients as of April 16 | Seattle Times NewspaperEffective April 16, Walgreens drugstores across the state won't take any new Medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition — the latest development in an ongoing dispute over Medicaid reimbursement.
The company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling Medicaid prescriptions for current patients.
This is a big hit to those that rely on these drugs for their health. This will also given other providers and in at the costumers.
It is hard to see that they will actually stop taking them as they do not want to lose whatever profit margin there would be.
I wonder if the Government is paying the bills timely enough?
