Iowa Politics Insider: Poll shows Obama leads GOP field in Iowa

n Iowa, Democratic President Barack Obama would beat Republican Mitt Romney by 9 points and would handily defeat the rest of the GOP field, a new survey shows.

Romney, the current national front-runner, does the best of a lineup of five Republicans, but Iowa voters prefer Obama 49 percent to 40 percent, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Friday.

That margin is nearly the same as Obama's 10-point victory in Iowa in 2008 against Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain, pollster Tom Jensen pointed out in a news release.

Obama would defeat Tim Pawlenty, a former governor of Minnesota, by 12 points; Georgia businessman Herman Cain by 18 points; Alaska's Sarah Palin by 20 points; and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich by 21 points, the survey found.

The survey of 1,387 Iowa voters was taken May 27-30. The margin of error was plus or minus 2.6 percent.

The GOP better up their game or were just going to have a replay of 2008.
I think that is exactly what is going to happen..the GOP has no game to up.

see we all knew that obama was a republican in disguise.. now he is even leading the Gop pack..
Because whenever unlimited power and self righteous compassion are united, you end up with a bunch of self righteous pricks spending other people's money and patting themselves on the back for being compassionate.

Maybe this is proof that Obama really is a neo-con?
