The article made villains out of the law enforcement officials. So after several of us questioned WND, michaelr took matters into his own hand, called the town's police department, and asked about the story.
Turns out that WND left out some VERY important details, including the fact that two social workers had been sent to the house; both of whom left when they were physically threatened. And then the father threatened to shoot local police when they showed up to investigate. None of these details were in the WND article, though the police department admitted that they'd provided all of the details to the WND editor.
Much to his credit, michaelr now claims to take WND articles with a degree of skepticism.
