AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — A 37-year-old woman who has an inoperable brain tumor wants to donate a kidney before she dies and will choose the recipient from among three contestants on Dutch national television, a TV network said Tuesday, claiming it wants to highlight a crisis in organ donations.

The good thing is that all dutch hospitals have refused to participate and make the transplant.

Well, that's good news.
I think it's crazy the lack of morality that exists nowadays on TV. What is going to be next?

Japanese are also very extreme in the reality shows, but it's always just disgusting and humiliating things in a funny way, not games about feelings or the life of someone.

Making a totally tasteless reality show is how they think they can highlight a crisis in organ donations? What a bunch of silly wankers. If they do want to highlight a shortage of donors, they should do what was done on tv over here recently, where the stories of organ recipients were followed as they got their transplants. And the message came across loud and clear that these people were the lucky ones, because a lot of people die before a compatible donor organ is found. I'm not sure how this Dutch show is going to get any other message across other than one of *It's Fun To Watch Very Ill People's Desperation*...

I always wondered who was responsible for the creation of Big Brother and now I know. I stopped watching Big Brother after the first episode of the first season, but even though I don't watch it, I know of two totally tasteless 'pranks' from this season's show. The first was intentionally giving a doll to a woman who they knew had only recently had a miscarriage and making her look after it to make sure it wouldn't 'die'. The second was the death of the father of one of the contestants being kept secret from her while she's still in the house. BB's producers are claiming that her father, who had cancer, made it his dying wish that he didn't want her told, and her boyfriend was quoted as saying she won't mind too much when she does get out and find out he's dead and she's missed his funeral, but seriously, who listens to incredibly stupid dying wishes or boyfriends who sound like they exchanged brains with a headless chook? Obviously, BB producers do

I would never watch this show, that's all I can say.

Hadn't heard of that one, that is so horrible. I never thought I would be in favour of censorship but TV has got to get some sense of responsiblity back.
