Often disbelief of an 'official government' proclamation and the offering of an alternative POV is labeled as being of a conspiracy mindset.
My feeling is that people sense connections that could amount to conspiracies, but are not necessarily what is ordinarily considered a conspiracy.
An example would be a chart involving top pentagon officials who went to be lobbyists for defense contractors. Imagine the chart detailing 30 of these with different colored lines showing active duty interaction with the defense industry and different colored lines back and forth to the pentagon as a lobbyist after service.
One could assert there is something not right in this relationship. All those lines could reveal an ongoing conspiracy especially if it included all the pentagon personnel who have turned around and acted as salesmen for the products of the defense industry. There would certainly be a large amount of different colored lines showing the relationships that developed.
Someone looking at the chart might say they see a conspiracy. Another looking at it would think of ways to make the process work better.
So how is it you classify information as being conspiratorial? For instance the information surrounding the Lincoln assassination is conspiratorial. I do not see such a relationship with the pentagon and the military industrial complex. I see instead a process that has taken over the economy the way cancer takes over a body. It is doing precisely what it needs to do, it knows what it needs to do and has been doing it successfully since it began.
