McCain's Tax Cut Flip
McCain's Tax Cut Flip
Quote:
When Mitt Romney changed his position on an issue, like abortion, he defended his change and didn't deny it. He told us why he converted into a pro-lifer. When John McCain talks about taxes, he says he's been for tax cuts, but he voted against them…Sen. McCain: "I've been involved in all of these issues, I know now stop the irresponsible spending. I've always been for tax cuts, I have always…uh… although, I voted against the first tax cuts, but these tax cuts have to be made permanent…"
The truth is, John McCain has been an enemy to the Republican Party, and his record is anything but a model of consistency. We can't believe him when he says he's always been for something when he voted against it. If he changed his position say so, but don't run and pretend like you're a straight-talker.

Absolutely on that one. After all this, he wants to come out talking like a Republican.

The following is a response to your source article which I find spot on accurate...

This is ridiculous and a false representation of the most fiscally conservative candidate in the field.
John McCain voted against the first round of Bush tax cuts because they weren't accompanied by spending cuts to make government smaller.
Sounds pretty conservative…
Not to mention that the Senator has never earmarked a bill and is solidly against pork-barrel spending.
John McCain is for tax cuts, he just wants those tax cuts to be responsible and truly conservative.

Go ahead and make up bullshit excuses now. The record shows where this lying weasel really stands on the issues.

Re: McCain's Tax Cut Flip
Being a Libertarian (I consider republicans lemon socialists) let me skip the in house infighting and simply ask if you have some idea what principles, if any, does McCain advocate?

Socio-biology and selection is a fact of life and death not a political option
Politics is a continuation of war by other means
Calling congress a parliament of whores insults the morals and principle of crack whores

Re: McCain's Tax Cut Flip
We need to give Bourne credit on that one. I, too, will laud McCain for wanting to see spending cuts to match the tax cuts. Where I differ, though, is if we can only get the tax cuts, I'd go ahead and get them and then let government starve by attrition from loss of revenues.

Re: McCain's Tax Cut Flip
RP is more fiscally conservative than McCain. So I can't say what you quoted is 100% accurate.

Ron Paul has some very conservative ideas concerning taxes and spending but I have yet to hear how he plans to implement his ideas with efficiency and effectiveness and how he expects to gain the cooperation of Congress.

You know, I'd really like to respond to you Defensor but when you offer this kind of irrational, sarcastic and intellectually impotent type of post it makes any thought of debating you an obvious waste of time.
